João Posted April 18, 2009 Share Posted April 18, 2009 Westlife – “Unbreakable” Patrono: Catita ‘Westlife’ é uma boysband formada em 1998, originária da Irlanda, mais especificamente da cidade de Sligo. O grupo é formado por Mark Feehily, Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne e Brian Mcfadden, tendo este último abandonado a banda em 2004. As influências musicais do grupo incluem boysbands como ‘Boyzone’, ‘Take That’ e ‘Backstreet Boys’, bem como o grupo ‘Boyz II Men’. Nos primórdios, a banda chamou-se ‘Six As One’, posteriormente ‘IOU’ e por fim ‘Westside’, no entanto, nos EUA já existia uma banda com o mesmo nome, então chegam a acordo e mudaram definitivamente para ‘Westlife’. O grupo já tem 14 singles número 1 no Reino Unido, conquistados no período de 1999 a 2008, o quarto maior recorde na história do país, ficando atrás somente de Elvis Presley, ‘The Beatles’, e empatado com Cliff Richard. Os ‘Westlife’ também são a única banda na história do Reino Unido que tiveram os seus sete primeiros sucessos consecutivamente no topo dos tops dos mais vendidos. Cerca de 40 milhões de álbuns da banda já foram vendidos em mais de 40 países pelo mundo. De 1999 a 2007, lançaram 9 álbuns (um por ano), sendo o quarto ‘Unbreakable - The Greatest Hits, Vol. I’ lançado em Novembro de 2002, a primeira compilação de sucessos, da qual faz parte a música a ‘Unbreakable’.
